Bank feeds and coding

Stop paying skilled people to code the same vendors every month.

Getting transactions onto a screen is the one thing every accounting product automates. LedgerHQ automates what comes next: rules and Tally code and post the activity you have seen a hundred times, and the queue you open contains only the rows that actually needed a bookkeeper.

Watch the whole lifecycle

From bank row to posted entry, start to finish.

A real feed: what posts on its own, what waits, and what lands in front of a person.

Pending means pending

Unsettled activity stays out of coding, posting, matching, and reconciliation, so the queue tells the truth.

Transfers are paired

LedgerHQ matches transfers and card payments so both sides are handled together instead of double-counted.

Human decisions win

A category your team chooses is preserved. Automation does not quietly overwrite a bookkeeper's call.

01

Activity arrives without anyone downloading anything

Connect bank and card accounts through Plaid and transaction updates flow into the correct company and register.

Mapped accounts become working feeds. Unmapped accounts stay out of the way and out of your bill.

02

The familiar work moves on its own

Create rules for repeat deposits, software charges, rent, and subscriptions. When a rule matches, LedgerHQ prepares or posts the transaction through the same accounting services a manual entry uses.

For rows no rule covers, Tally searches the books, compares history, groups similar activity, and prepares the coding — removing the research time without hiding the uncertainty.

  • Rules for trusted repeat activity
  • Tally research on unfamiliar rows
  • Transfers and card payments matched
  • Successful decisions become new rules
03

A dead bank connection stops being your problem

When a bank needs the owner's login or consent again, LedgerHQ can text them a secure single-use link. They reconnect without ever entering your firm's workspace, and the account is verified before the issue closes.

The alternative — noticing during month-end and starting a week of phone tag — is one of the quietest costs in firm bookkeeping.

Questions

What firms usually ask.

Can bookkeeping software code transactions automatically?

It can for activity it has enough evidence to justify. In LedgerHQ, saved rules and Tally code and post familiar bank activity, while new vendors, ambiguous transfers, and incomplete rows remain queued for a bookkeeper. Software that claims to post everything is deferring the work, not removing it.

Which bank data provider does LedgerHQ use?

Plaid. Institution coverage, update timing, and statement availability depend on Plaid and the financial institution.

Are pending transactions posted?

No. Fresh pending activity is view-only until it settles or reaches the supported hold period, so it cannot contaminate coding or reconciliation.

Can a client reconnect a bank without a LedgerHQ login?

Yes. LedgerHQ sends approved company owners a secure, limited, single-use reconnect link by text.

Will AI overwrite a category my team selected?

No. Human decisions are preserved, and repeated decisions can be turned into rules so the same work is not done twice.
